Being away from Oak Mtn – even for a couple days, always makes me fond of the people and the community when i return. Yesterday was no exception.
We opened yesterday with Begin My Tongue, another tune i wrote as a part of a hymn-[re]writing group that I was a part of quite a few years ago.
After our call to worship we sang Beautiful One, Holy is the Lord, Amazing Grace (Chains are Gone), and Hear Us From Heaven.
Our offering song was Everything (Hughes).
For Communion, Alicia sang Child of God (K. Scott). GREAT tune. Check out 7:22 Band’s recording of it. Not sure if it’s on iTunes. it was on their first live CD. We also sang How He Loves. I really dig this song. I didn’t the first few times I heard it, but really enjoy it now.
Speaking of “Child of God”, the album Kathryn Scott's recording came from (Hungry – Falling on My Knees) is, in my opinion, the best worship album to date.
