I love the Advent/Christmas season. One thing I love doing as a worship leader is taking songs that we sing during the rest of the year – and putting them into the Christmas context, flanked by a few carols that are essentially singing/saying the same thing. Just simply altering our context a little bit can change the way we view the most common of praise texts.
We opened yesterday with That’s Why We Praise Him – a Tommy Walker song that I don’t think we’ve done for about 5 years – but says it perfectly.
After our call to worship we sang Hosanna, O Come Emmanuel, Come Thou Long Expected Jesus, and Holy is the Lord.
Our offering song was Sara Groves’ Child of Love – sung by Kala Waldron.
Communion is next week – and then be sure and join us for our normal worship times on December 16th as our worship ministry presents our Christmas Worship Service – All Things New.
