When was the last time you used your imagination in worship? I’ve been reading through the historical books, and trying to take note of some of the lengths that Israel would go to to express gratitude, to ask forgiveness, to give thanks . . .
Solomon’s over one week-long worship service, for the dedication of the temple, included the sacrifice of 22,000 oxen and 120,000 sheep. Can you imagine the scene of fire coming down from Heaven and consuming the sacrifice? The people of God – bowing and declaring “For He is good, for his steadfast love endures forever . . .” Do you imagine the sounds? The excitement, the awe? The intensity?
Does any of this translate into your worship?
