It was great to be back at OMPC yesterday.  Thankful for our church and the privilege of worshipping with them.

We opened yesterday with Glorious Day

After the call to worship we sang Lion and the Lamb, Crown Him With Many Crowns, We Will Feast and Great Are You Lord

Our offering song was a new tune for OMPC called Build My Life

Join us in choir!  We’ve resumed weekly rehearsals and are preparing for our April 14th Palm Sunday worship service.  No singing experience necessary!  Drinks, snacks and childcare are provided.

Monday Morning Recap for Sunday – September 2, 2018

I was out of town on Sunday and so Jeff Sauceda led for us – great guy, great voice, and a great friend!

They opened with Psalm 100

After the call to worship they sang Lion and the Lamb, Unstoppable God and Reckless Love

The worship set was abbreviated this past Sunday as we had Chad Walker’s ordination service as a part of our Sunday morning – which had some additional elements involved.

Join us in choir – Wednesday nights from 6-7 in the choir room!

Monday Morning Recap for Sunday – August 26, 2018

Yesterday was our inaugural choir Sun day for the 2018-2019 ministry year and we had a fantastic turnout!  Such a great group to work with.  If you’ve been thinking about joining us, now is a great time to get plugged in, as we’re already working on Christmas music – working toward our 2018 Christmas service – set for December 9th.

We opened yesterday with Even So Come

After the call to worship we sang Amazing God, Good Good Father, Praise to the Lord the Almighty and No Other Name (the Jason Sears tempo version that only takes 13 minutes instead of the Hillsong standard 23 minutes)

Our offering song was All the Poor and Powerless

Monday Morning Recap for Sunday – August 19, 2018

Yesterday concluded our Summer 2018 week of Prayer as Bob continued his series from 2 Peter.  We concluded our week of prayer with a 24-hour time of prayer and fasting, and a mini-concert of prayer style worship service.

We opened yesterday with Glorious Day

After the call to worship we sang Joyful, and entered into a time of adoration prayer.  We then sang O Come to the Altar and entered a time of confession.  How He Loves came next and preceded a time of thanksgiving and we concluded with Never Once leading into a time of supplication

Choir has started back!  Come join us Wednesday nights from 6-7 downstairs in the choir room.  Drinks, snacks and childcare are provided

Monday Morning Recap for Sunday – July 29, 2018

IMG_8427Yesterday was our 15th Annual Bullfrog Choir.  Such an incredible blessing to lead with so many men joining us on the stage.  The sound is incredible.  The spirit of worship is unmistakable – it’s always one of my favorite Sundays of the year.

We opened yesterday with This is Amazing Grace

After the call to worship we sang Hosanna, All Hail the Pow’r of Jesus Name, Jesus Only Jesus, Be Thou My Vision and Never Let Go

Our offering song was O Come to the Altar

Monday Morning Recap for Sunday – March 11, 2018

Yesterday was a different “feel” for our worship set.  I try to change things up every once in a while with an acoustic set – piano, acoustic, hollow bass, fiddle and percussion.  We keep the same songs/programming, but it offers a nice contrast to our normal electric-driven worship style.  It also provides a nice balance for next week’s Easter-season worship service “Forgiven.”

We opened yesterday with Come Ye Sinners

After our call to worship we sang Your Grace is Enough, Great Are You Lord, Draw Me Nearer and Lord I Need You

Our offering song was At the Cross and the tune we sang during communion was There is a Fountain

Join us next week for “Forgiven” at both morning services, 8:15 and 10:45

Monday Morning Recap for Sunday – November 19, 2017

I was out of town yesterday as my family and I spend some time away before the Advent season.  Jeff Sauceda filled in for worship leadership at OMPC, and always does such a great job!

They opened yesterday with Come Thou Fount

After the call to worship they sang Awesome is the Lord Most High, Let God Arise, I Lift My Hands, and Jesus Only Jesus

The offering song was a new tune (to OMPC) from Tomlin called All the Way My Savior Leads Me.

As always, it’s never too late to join us for choir!  We don’t meet this week but will resume normal rehearsals next Wednesday – November 29 from 6-7.  Come join us for the last couple weeks as we prepare for The Heavens Declare.

Monday Morning Recap for Sunday – July 16, 2017

Bullfrog Choir 2017I was out on vacation Sunday and Jenny Pruitt filled in for me.  Always great to have such a host of talented people able to lead OMPC well.

They opened last Sunday with All Because of Jesus.

After the call to worship they sang Joyful, How He Loves, Never Let Go, and Great Is Thy Faithfulness

The offering song was a Jenny Pruitt original called You Go Before.

Join us in just two weeks for our 14th annual Bullfrog Choir – the opportunity every year for all men (and their sons) of OMPC to come together on the stage to sing and lead our congregation in worship!

Jason’s Disney Insider Tips, part 1

We are Disney fanatics.  We love it.  There’s something about the customer service, the commitment to a unified vision, and the fervent pursuit of excellence that is attractive, inspiring and motivating about a trip to Disney.  From the street sweepers, to ride-loaders, to customer service agents, and managerial level – the employees (known as cast members) are lock-step in full commitment to bringing a top drawer experience to the customer.  The design is incredible, the logistics are impeccable, and the simple act of a visit can easily become a lesson in customer service, and guest experience.

We (the Sears Family) have visited more times that I’m willing to admit, and we absolutely love it, every single time.

It dawned on me the last time we were there that we have tips and secrets that we adhere to that enable our family to have the most fun for the least dollars.  We’re all about value.  I then thought that maybe it would be helpful to share those with my readers so they could take advantage.  So I’m going to spend some time here outlining what we feel are the most beneficial tips and tricks for “doing Disney” with a family.  I’ll cover things like stroller rentals, where to stay, where to eat, HOW to eat, rides to avoid, fast passes to NOT get, and little inside secrets that I’ve picked up along the way.  I’ll also be happy to answer any questions posted in the comments.  Stay tuned!
