There’s something really amazing about the one-service schedule, seeing the entire church gathered in one room. The singing is vibrant, the fellowship is tangible – it’s really a cool thing.
We opened yesterday with a Hillsong Grownups tune called Forever Reign.
After our call to worship we sang Let God Arise, Rejoice the Lord is King, Break Through, and Breathe.
Our offering song was Everything.
For communion, I sang Enough, How Deep the Father’s Love for Us, and Breathe.
The thoughts I shared with the worship team beforehand – we were standing backstage, and the thought struck me: The bookends of the worship set included the lyrics “Oh – i’m running to your arms, I’m running to your arms, the riches of Your love WILL ALWAYS BE ENOUGH” and we ended our set with “i’m desperate for You.” So my question was – what needs to be stripped away from our lives in order for that to be true? Especially in the 35242 zip code – how desperate are we for Christ. Are we able to say “the riches of your love will always be enough?” or are our lives filled with so many other distractions, junk, time-wastes, IDOLS….
Hey Jason.. Nice work on your blog. I stumbled upon it recently when googling “worship blog”. It's awesome that you were able to challenge your team before a set, especially regarding the worships you were presenting to the congregation. Anyways, keep it up bro.
