I'm speaking on worship and leading worship at the 2010 Global Advancement Conference in Orlando. It's going on all week. I'll probably write more on it later - but here are some thoughts that struck me:1. There's no flashyness. Yeah, that's right. These folks are able to learn some church-planting principles without cool videos, graphics, and state of the art technology. Having said that, I wonder how church planters would react to a conference designed to train and equip them that was over-the-top flashy. Great videos, moving lighting, huge sound systems. Monday Morning Recap for Sunday January 24, 2010

We had a great time of worship yesterday morning. The choir sang - and I really enjoy choir Sundays. The more people that we can get involved in leading God's people in worship, the better - We opened with a new song called What a Savior. After our call to worship we sang Amazing God, Everlasting God, Amazing Grace (Chains are Gone), and Your Name (Baloche). The power went out - The 9:00 service didn't get to see the 80, or the video clip that we had put together to lead into the sermon re: Haiti . . . Carlee did a bang-up job filling the room with vocals on the offering song, without mic, and in a room that's been designed to acoustically support a sound system, and not unamplified vocals and Bob screamed his way through his 9:00 sermon. Monday Morning Recap for Sunday January 10, 2KX

Everything seemed back to normal yesterday for our Sunday morning services - Normal times - 9 and 10:30. Bob was back, and started a series on Jonah. Life groups started back last night, as well as kids quest and kids choir. If your kids aren't in kids choir - and they're free from 4:30 to 5:30 - you should consider it. #3 turns 3!

Happy birthday to Drennen. We made the name up (or stole it from a church family's last name) because #3 was a glorious surprise and we were out of "Dr" names with Drake and Drew. (we didn't like Drip, or Dreyfus, or Dremel) So happy birthday to michael drennen . . . you're crazier than numbers 1 and 2 combined!

I took some time off. It was refreshing.
