Monday Morning Recap for Sunday – March 19, 2017

We don't have our normal recap this week, as yesterday was our Kids Musical Please Come Home, written and directed by my Auber-talented wife, Mandy. Based on the parable of the Prodigal Son, Please Come Home follows the Biblical story, as well as a parallel modern-day version, where we experience the heartache of a Father, and His relentless pursuit of BOTH of his sons - the one that left, and the one that became angry when the Prodigal returned. If you're interested in more details about the musical, or would like to purchase it for use at your own church, you…

Monday Morning Recap for Sunday – March 12, 2017

Yesterday was time-change Sunday.  We should, one time-change Sunday, yell "surprise!" to all the people that forget to set their clocks and come in an hour late... That'd be funny right? Yesterday's service was based around the #bluebook devotional thoughts on "God's Voice."  The #bluebook song of the week is Matt Redman's Blessed Be Your Name - and i've included his recording below.  You can also find Carrollton's recording of our communion song Tell Me. We opened yesterday with Because of Your Love. After our call to worship we sang Shelter, Blessed Be Your Name, Be Still My Soul, and O Come to the Altar. Our…

Monday Morning Recap for Sunday – February 19, 2017

It's always an exciting challenge leading worship with no voice - but nevertheless, we have a congregation that loves to sing!  So yesterday ended up being a great opportunity to just mouth some words and let the congregation fill in the rest! We opened with Lord Most High - which is also the #BlueBook song of the week.  If you're looking for a recording of it - you can find a youtube embed from Hillsong at the bottom of this post! Monday Morning Recap for Sunday – February 12, 2017

We "waltzed"through our worship set yesterday morning.  Bob's teaching on the Christian life is one of a three step dance - repent, believe, and fight.  As he setup to preach on "waltzing through the Word" I decided to craft our service waltzing through our worship set. We opened yesterday with All Because of Jesus. After our call to worship we sang Let Us Return - a tune written based on Hosea 6 and 14, where God calls Israel to repentance through His prophet Hosea.  We followed that with How Firm a Foundation, Oceans, and Love is War. Our offering song was a blast from the…
