I failed to get the setlist up yesterday because, well.... it's Christmastime, and quite busy around here! Yesterday was our final Sunday before the start of Advent, which begins next Sunday.  The idea behind the flow and text of our worship was to highlight the magnificent, almighty, matchless name of Christ - with the heavenly attributes that the saints and angels sing of, in order to contrast that with the simplicity of His arrival - a birth in a manger under the stars.We opened yesterday with Awake My Soul.After our call to worship we sang Lay Me Down, I Am, To Him, and No Other NameOur offering song was Mercy from Matt Redman - which i introduced a…

We had another Choir Sunday yesterday.... I love the multiple opportunities that having a choir affords a worship ministry.  It allows more people to get involved, increases the community aspect of the ministry, and injects so much more vocal energy into leading a congregation...We opened yesterday with Here For You.After our call to worship we sang Joyful, Revelation Song, Lord I Need You, and How Deep the Father's Love for Us.Our offering song was At the Cross (Love Ran Red).

Only a few more weeks and we'll be well into our Advent season.  But it's still never too late to join choir!  If you're interested - come check us out on Wednesday nights from 6-7, downstairs in the choir room.  We have drinks, snacks, and childcare, and NO singing experience is necessary.  It's a great community group and time of fellowship.  Come join us!We opened yesterday with The Church's One Foundation.After our call to worship we sang Let Us Return, How He Loves, There is a Fountain, and Breathe.Our offering song was a new tune from Matt Redman called Mercy.

We wrapped up our final sermon in the "Life in the Fast Lane" series yesterday, as well as our stewardship sermon series...In just a few weeks, we'll be hanging Christmas decor, and getting ready for the 2015 Advent season. We had another choir Sunday yesterday - always me favorite Sundays, being able to involve so many folks in worship leadership.  It's a great community and a great group that loves and cares for each other, and the worship of OMPC.We opened with Let Creation Sing.After our call to worship we sang This is Amazing Grace, Give to Our God Immortal Praise, Jesus Only Jesus, and Holy.Our offering song was Let It Be Jesus - led by Carlee Green.

We had our US Missions Sunday yesterday - as OMPC got a chance to hear from Mountain Brook Community's Missions Pastor - Jimbo Tucker, as well as from some of our US Missions efforts.We opened yesterday with White Flag.After our call to worship we sang Lay Me Down, Jesus What a Friend for Sinners, God of This City, and No Other Name.Our offering song was Come As You Are.
