Monday Morning Recap for Sunday – July 15, 2012

Good morning interwebers.We opened yesterday with a tune I wrote with Billy Ivey called I Will Sing.After our call to worship we sang You Lifted Me Out, You Alone Can Rescue, Jesus Paid it All, and How Deep the Father's Love for Us.Our offering song was a new tune to Oak Mountain called 10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord) by Matt Redman. Terrific tune. Wouldn't be surprised if it showed up again this week.

1. Facebook needs a block filter that removes all complaints about the heat.2. Gas prices rose 13 cents overnight. Why can't I buy stock in gas prices?3. Masterchef - one of the best shows on TV.4. 1. So thankful for my freedom.2. Dear people in the north - if we can't make fun of you for complaining about a 90 degree day, you can't make fun of us for closing school during a snow dusting, deal?3. So - the people that started "Friendster" were serious?4. Am I the only one that's surprised that some Christian artist hasn't come up with a version of Gotye's "someone that I used to know…?" Something like "somebody that I need to know…"5. Being off yesterday is really messing with my head.

So it's on Tuesday - it's a weird week this week, what with the holiday on a Wednesday…. How do you plan a trip around being off on a Wednesday?I was on a short vacation this past weekend - and so Patrick Bush filled in for me, and as always did an outstanding job.They opened last Sunday with Song of the Redeemed.After the call to worship they sang Awesome is the Lord Most High, No Not One, A Mighty Fortress, and Lead Me to the Cross.The offering song was Reign in Us.Communion coming up this Sunday. 1. I think the more we try to maintain our reputation - the more likely it is to completely crumble.2. The only solution to #1 is to stand behind Christ.3. Twitter was down last week. Productivity skyrocketed.4. So - this whole "water your lawn or it turns brown" thing is for the birds.5. I had a dream Sunday night that we hosted a Justin Bieber concert, at the church. Load-in started at 2AM, and sound check was at 8AM. I woke up in cold sweats.

You're not going to want to miss it!We opened yesterday with Awake My Soul - which I often find is a good reminder, and call to worship for my own soul to focus on Jesus.After our call to worship we sang Not To Us, Our God Saves, I Stand Amazed, and Enough.Our offering song was a new tune from Paul Baloche called The Same Love.
