Patrick and the Youth worship team led worship in my absence yesterday. We have the best youth ministry and the best youth staff in the country - Patrick's very talented not only in discipling and shepherding youth - but also in leading worship. It's great to be able to leave knowing that it's so well taken care of. If your kids aren't in our youth ministry, and actively engaged - they should be. Encourage them to come. Drop them off. Get them a ride with the neighbor's kids. Do what it takes to get them plugged into what's going on…

Monday morning Recap for Sunday – April 18, 2010

Greeting interweb. We had a different flavor to the band sound last Sunday - as I had a good friend playing fiddle - as well as a mandolin, 2 acoustics, and hollow-body bass. Great feel for the service. We opened with What a Savior. After our call to worship, we sang Come Christians Join to Sing, Amazing God, Center, and In Christ Alone. Our offering song was Christy Nockel's A Mighty Fortress - really, really, really great tune. For communion - Julie sang I Belong, and then we sang Streams of Living Water (RMM). Monday morning Recap for Sunday – April 11, 2010

Yesterday's worship was live at the Acropolis - we had the children's musical set up on stage complete with Josiah's throne, quite a few columns, etc.We opened with Jesus Messiah - a tune *new* to oak mountain that we first introduced during the Palm Sunday program a couple weeks agoAfter our call to worship we sang Crown Him with Many Crowns, Your Grace is Enough, Sing to the King, Amazing Grace (Chains are gone) and Hear Us from Heaven. With Easter having come and gone, and the school year rapidly coming to an end - i wanted to get the dates out for the "rest" of our spring season - just as a reminder, for my mom. and the 4 others that read this. April 11 - 6PM - Our kids present "Good Kings Come in Small Packages" - the story of Josiah. April 16 and 17 - our men's conference - called "Man Up: Redefined." You can sign up for that HERE. I truly love the Easter morning celebration. I've been waking up earlier and earlier in the mornings - for reasons unknown, but this morning I was able to sit with my boys and read the resurrection accounts from scripture . . .
