APP Review: Restrictions

We got great feedback from our first app review in the inaugural edition of Ascent on the built-in feature of iOS called “Do Not Disturb”—which you can set automatically, or manually, to ensure that you don’t receive any chirps, dings, bells, whistles or buzzes during times that you’re wanting to focus on your family. Another fantastic built-in option on the iPhone is “Restrictions.” We’ve got four boys, and we fall to the fascist side of using technology in the house. Join us this Sunday for Come As You Are

When you read Scripture - do you find yourself using your imagination?  As you read through the gospel accounts of the lIfe of Jesus, are you remembering that these events happened in space and time?  Have you ever wondered what it might have been like to be one of those in the crowd, astonished, in awe, doubtful, overwhelmed, desperate ….  I think that one of the reasons we’re given so many vivid pictures of those around Jesus is that we’re to be reminded that we ARE those same people.  They experienced some of the same feelings, thoughts, and emotions that…

Monday Morning Recap for Sunday – March 15, 2015

Yesterday was one of the few Sundays that we have a much more scaled-down, acoustic feel to our worship set.  Our instrumentation consisted of piano, acoustic, acoustic bass, and fiddle.  I love changing it up every once in a while. We opened with All Who Are Thirsty -  to continue to remind us to slow down during this season of Lent...After our call to worship we sang Hosanna (Hillsong), Search Me, Jesus Paid it All, and Lead Me to the Cross. Our offering song was No Other Name - from Hillsong.Join us this Sunday at both morning services for Come As You Are -…
