Monday Morning Recap for Sunday – December 30, 2018

And just like that – 2018 is in the books!  I was out of town yesterday as my only remaining grandparent had passed (my Dad’s mom) and I flew to Moline, IL to bury her.

Jeff Sauceda led worship for us – and as always does a tremendous job!

They sang Psalm 100, Awesome is the Lord Most High, O Come to the Altar and How Deep the Father’s Love for Us.

The offering song was Good Good Father

Monday Morning Recap for Sunday – December 9, 2018

Yesterday was our 16th Annual OMPC Christmas service.  This year’s service was entitled “Say Something.”

I’m not posting my typical recap – but check back later this week for videos from yesterday.  The service included tunes from Matt Redman, Lauren Daigle, Kathryn Scott, Matt Maher, Christy Nockels and Michael W Smith.  It included 98 choir members, an 8 piece band, orchestral sequences, and original video produced by Wes Smith and Michael Southerland.

Again – check back on Thursday for videos from yesterday!

Monday Morning Recap for Sunday – December 2, 2018

SaySomethingPosterYesterday was the 1st Sunday of Advent, and one of our “not-so-normal” worship sets at OMPC.  Every once in a while I like to have fiddle, acoustic, hollow-body bass and perc (along with piano) to change up our style.  We still stick to our normal programming but the instrumental context is a tad more relaxed.  Lots of fun to play with those fine musicians!

We opened yesterday with All Who Are Thirsty

After the call to worship we sang Relentless, Come Thou Long Expected Jesus, Great Are You Lord, O Come Emmanuel and Waiting Here For You

Our offering song was Love Came Down by Kari Jobe – sung so well by Kala Waldron.

Join us next week for our 2018 Christmas service “Say Something” – both morning services, 8:15 and 10:45.

Monday Morning Recap for Sunday – November 25, 2018

Yesterday was the final Sunday of the church year – as the First Sunday of Advent is next Sunday, and officially kicks off the new liturgical year.  Our worship set was designed to usher our hearts into a sense of preparation for Advent – which of course is a season of preparation.  We prepared to prepare…

We opened yesterday with Hosanna – with the line “Come have Your way among us – we welcome You here Lord Jesus”

After the call to worship we sang This is Amazing Grace, Search Me, To Him and Before the Throne of God Above

Our offering song was Child of God – sung by Alicia Baker.

Join us in just TWO WEEKS for our 2018 Christmas Worship Service Say Something

Monday Morning Recap for Sunday – November 18, 2018

I hope everyone has a safe and happy Thanksgiving week.  Don’t talk about politics.  Just avoid the subject altogether.  It’ll make the turkey taste better, I promise.

I was out yesterday and Jeff Sauceda led so well.  Great to have such talented musicians with us at OMPC.

They opened yesterday with Blessed Be Your Name

After the call to worship they sang Lion and the Lamb, Holy is the Lord, Jesus Only Jesus and Good Good Father

The offering song was What a Beautiful Name

It’s never too late to join us in choir for Christmas!  We don’t have rehearsal this week, but join us next week as we continue to prepare for “Say Something”
