Monday Morning Recap for Sunday – Feb 13, 2011

Great sermon on Gospel Assertion - don't be a lopsided snowman... We opened yesterday with Let Your Kingdom Come - it's the 3rd week in a row that we've done that song. I supposed folks may be tired of it by now. After our call to worship we sang Awesome is the Lord Most High, Immortal Invisible, Great is Thy Faithfulness, and The Stand (Hillsong). Our offering song was Passion's version of Take My Life. During Communion, Jenny sang Make Something Beautiful. Choir sings next week. Never too late to join choir. Come give it a shot!

By far my favorite line "if you tarry, until you're better, you will never come at all."After our call to worship we sang Arise, Filled with Your Glory, Break Through, and How Firm a Foundation.Our offering song was a new (to oak mountain) song called Saviour King. Our 2011 Faith Promise Pledge song was Let Your Kingdom Come (sovereign grace).

Our Global Missions Conference kicked off yesterday morning. We met last night as well - and will meet tonight and tomorrow at 6:15. We opened yesterday with a new song (to oak mountain) called Let Your Kingdom Come (by the fine folks over at Sovereign Grace). After our call to worship we sang Let God Arise. Sing to the King, The Solid Rock, and Revelation Song. Last night we opened with Hosanna, and continued with Our God Saves, Everlasting God, Immortal Invisible, and Center. Had a great day of worship yesterday. Life Groups have started back, as well as kids choir and worship choir. If you're not plugged into a life group - do so. Get involved!We opened yesterday with Marvelous Light. First time that I've led that song at Oak Mountain. Great tune. Two recaps today - one for our Christmas Eve service - and one for yesterday - Sunday the 26th.Our Christmas Eve service has developed into quite the tradition. This was my 8th Christmas at Oak Mountain, and I've tried to instill some sort of "traditional" songs for oak mountain, during Christmas Eve. Yesterday marked the 1st Sunday of Advent. In the liturgical calendar - it's the Prophet Candle - "the anticipation of christ." The songs was sang yesterday all pointed us to the expectation of Christ's coming/Christ's return. We opened with Let God Arise.
