These guys are friends of mine . . .

Go to this link and vote for my friends in Wild Sweet Orange . . . Very cool video. VERY talented musicians - Chip (the drummer) is very creative and musical, and Taylor (electric guitarist with his guitar hiked up around his chest) is one of the best guitarists I know in real life.

Ms. Mandy and Ms. Connie

Ms Mandy and Ms Connie are two HUGE resources at Oak Mountain that your kids need to be involved with.My musical background includes (there's a reason for my laying this out - hang with me) plucking out notes from TV commercials when i was 3 on my fisher price piano, to begging my parents for 4 years to let me take piano. When i was 7 -they figured I might be serious, and so they signed me up. I grew up (until I was 12) in the midwest. When I was 10, we moved (for the 2nd time) back to…

So as a part of the service this weekend, we're reading a couple questions from the Heidelberg Catechism. This part struck me:"How does Christ's return - to judge the living and the dead - comfort you?"In all my distress and persecution, I turn my eyes to…

This Weekend's Service

We're opening the service this weekend with a song from Israel Houghton called "Say So." It's a slow, dramatic ballad (no, not really). Anyway - as the choir has prepared over the past few weeks, we've had quite a bit of fun learning the song and preparing for this Sunday. I received an incredible email from one of my choir members. I asked him/her if I could share and they responded affirmatively. For me, it reaffirms my thought that God is doing something different and amazing in the hearts of His people at Oak Mountain. The two songs that the…
