Monday Morning Recap for Sunday – November 15

Sunday was awesome. Apart from the worship set, and the testimony from Pavel (Bob's friend from St Petersburg), we had a moment where all adopting, or adopted families came up on stage. There were 100's on stage at once. Awesome moment. Very cool to see all those folks. We opened the service with All Who Are Thirsty. After the call to worship, we sang Prince of Peace, Blessed Assurance, When All is Said and Done (Tommy Walker), and You Never Let Go (Redman). For our offering song - we sang Do it Lord (Tommy Walker).During communion - we sang a new song I…

Worship Leader Lessons, #10

Learn how to arrange. No one knows your teams better than you do. If you don't know how to use notation software, I hear that Sibelius is very easy to learn and use. I use Finale - and the reason I don't switch is because I spent FAR too much time learning Finale, and all of its in's and out's. That's not to say that it doesn't have its challenges though :)Spend some time learning notation software, and arranging music the way you want your vocalists to sing it, and your instrumentalists to play it. Providing your musicians with clear consistent…

The 4-stages of Presbyterian Hand-Raising

Sunday - in church I stepped out a little bit. Literally - from behind the keyboard (by the way - i've been standing at a keyboard for the past month and a half). We've gone through quite the transition as a Presbyterian church over the years that I've been at oak mountain. People have come and gone - we've grown quite a bit, and we'll sometimes get transfer growth from other pres churches in the area. Having said that - I FEEL like (notice that this is all based on my feelings - no facts) sometimes our folks are hindered in…
