Yesterday capped off our 2018 Global Missions Conference with a message on Faith Promise from our Sr Pastor Bob Flayhart.  Faith Promise is the way members of OMPC contribute financially to what we believe God is calling us in supporting missions work, missionaries and efforts around the world. We kicked off our 2018 Global Missions Conference yesterday with a choir Sunday and a message from Pete Nicholas from Inspire London - a church that we've partnered with that's reaching downtown London. We opened yesterday with Let Creation Sing After the all to worship we sang Jesus Shall Reign, Forever Reign, 10000 Reasons and Revelation Song. Our offering song was No Other Name It's never too late to join us for choir as we prepare for "Forgiven" - our special Easter season worship service on March 18th.

Yesterday was the 1st Sunday of Lent - a season of the liturgical calendar marked by reflection, repentance and a turning our gaze back toward the Father.  Yesterday's worship set focused our thoughts on asking God to search us and make our mind one with His. Yesterday was our last Sunday before Lent begins.  Lent starts this Wednesday with Ash wednesday - and is 40 days and 40 nights before Easter.  It's a time for pause, reflection, repentance and lament.  Our worship sets over the next few weeks will allow us some opportunities to slow our pace a bit and be more reflective. It's hard to believe that we're already into February.  The year is already flying by - and we'll be into March and our March 18th special worship service before you know it!  If you'd like to join us in choir - now is the perfect time to get involved.  We rehearse every Wednesday night from 6-7 in the choir room.  Drinks, snacks and childcare are provided and NO singing experience is necessary! Yesterday morning was a choir Sunday.  I feel like everytime I write the recap for a choir sunday I always type "I love choir Sundays" and I really do - they're my favorite.  I love having that many people coming together to lead OMPC in worship.  It's such a fun fellowship/community group that just happens to sing music.  If you've thought about joining us - please do!  We meet on Wednesday nights from 6-7 in the choir room and provide drinks, snacks and childcare. Yesterday's worship set focused our thoughts on the Holy Spirit, and the prayer for the Spirit's work to fall on us at OMPC. We opened with Awake My Soul - a hymn re-write from an Isaac Watts hymn text. After the call to worship we sang Soul on Fire, O 4 a 1000 Tongues (with the Crowder chorus), Savior King, and Oceans. Our offering song was a new tune (to OMPC) called Holy Spirit.  And since no fewer than 42 Christian artists have done their rendition of this tune - we used Francesca Battistelli's roadmap. We started a new year of worship at OMPC yesterday, and also kicked off a new church-wide devotional with Paul Tripp's "New Morning Mercies."  If you haven't picked up your copy yet - you can do so at the church.  It's free - one per family. We put 2017 in the books yesterday.  It's been a great year for the Worship Ministry at OMPC.  Great folks involved in using their musical and technical gifts to glorify God, and our worship and musical community growing closer together in fellowship and community. Yesterday was just me at the piano, and Chad Walker - our Director of Outreach and Young Professionals delivering the message. We opened yesterday with Come Ye Sinners.
