The OMPC Worship Ministry is Hiring!

The OMPC Worship Ministry is currently hiring a part-time stagehand (20-25 hours/week). Hours include Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings. Qualified applicants should be able to lift 50 pounds over their head, enjoy their steaks medium-rare (at the most), never use the phrase “lefty-loosy, righty-tighty” and have extensive knowledge of local cheese dips. Kombucha Juice and Essential Oils are not provided. Contact Jason or Wes in the Worship Ministry for more information.

Monday Morning Recap for Sunday – June 18, 2017

Bob was out yesterday and Tom Patton brought our message following along in the BlueBook series with Holiness. We opened with a tune that Jeff Sauceda has introduced the last couple times he's led called Psalm 100 After our call to worship we sang Your Grace is Enough, Jesus Only Jesus, 10,000 Reasons, and Holy Holy Holy - which is also the #BlueBook song of the week. Our offering song was a new (to OMPC) tune called What a Beautiful Name by Hillsong.

Monday Morning Recap for Sunday – June 11, 2017

Yesterday's service gave us the opportunity to be reminded of the sustaining, life-giving breath of God. Our time in worship reflected on the importance of His breath empowering every part of our being, and reminded us of our desperation for His very breath to always be moving, working, and breathing within us. We opened yesterday with All Because of Jesus. After our call to worship we sang Hosanna, Breathe on Me Breath of God, Breathe, and O Come to the Altar. Our offering song was Great Are You Lord (from All Sons and Daughters), and our communion tune was Breathe In Me, from Michael W Smith.

It was great to be back at OMPC yesterday after a Sunday away on vacation. We continued in our Blue Book series with "Following and Being Led." Our worship set was designed around the theme of whole-hearted devotion, sacrifice and surrender. For me, a key verse for surrender is always found in the 3rd verse of O Worship the King - "Frail children of dust, and feeble as frail, in You do we trust, nor find you to fail..." I'm always forgetting that I am that frail child of dust - my trust is too often in what I'm able…

Monday Morning Recap for Sunday – May 28, 2017

Ok ok... so it's Thursday. But if you're checking a blog on Memorial Day to find out song names, you're doing holidays wrong... I was out on Sunday and Jeff Sauceda led worship. Always does a fantastic job! They opened with Psalm 100. After the call to worship they sang You Lifted Me Out, White Flag, Lord I Need You, and Take My Life (the Passion version). The offering song was Come As You Are, and the communion tune was Jesus Messiah.

Bob was back in the pulpit yesterday as we continued our series in the Blue Book Devotional. Yesterday's theme was "Loved By God" - which paired so nicely with some great tunes that remind us of God's love for us... We opened with Because of Your Love. Our kids led in worship yesterday, as has become tradition here at OMPC, especially for Mother's Day. Always great to be led by the kids - they're such a wonderful reminder of our posture/position in worship. Their often uninhibited freedom is enviable, as they haven't lost the desire to use their bodies, arms, and hands in worship. We opened yesterday with Let the Praises Ring. Hard to believe we're already into May - next Sunday is Mother's Day, and the kids will be leading us in worship. Love it when the kids lead in worship - almost as much as I love choir Sundays - of which, yesterday was one. Bob was out yesterday and Mark Long - our Youth Pastor, preached on the Blue Book week "Chosen By God." We opened with Jesus - a new tune to OMPC that we introduced during our Palm Sunday service. After our call to worship we sang All Hail the Power of Jesus' Name, How He Loves, Let it Be Jesus, and To Him. Our offering song was All Sons and Daughters' All the Poor and Powerless.
