Yesterday was our 15th Annual Christmas Worship Service at OMPC. I don't do a typical morning recap for the service - as it involves narrative, music and video, and takes the whole hour. I'll post videos here at the blog later this week, so be sure and check back, but in the meantime, we had over 180 involved between the choir, band, kids choir and tech team. Monday Morning Recap for Sunday – December 3, 2017

Yesterday (actually Sunday because I'm writing this on Tuesday) was the first Sunday of Advent. At OMPC we love to sing the traditional Christmas carols - but we also include songs that we normally sing during the year, which in the context of Advent, take on a whole new meaning. Yesterday we sang a lot about "waiting," which of course reminds us that not only are we celebrating the birth of Christ, but we also wait and long for His return, coming in the clouds. We're wrapping up the year rapidly, as last Sunday was "thanksgiving sunday." This is one of the few years that the Sunday after thanksgiving isn't also the first sunday of Advent. I was out of town yesterday as my family and I spend some time away before the Advent season. Jeff Sauceda filled in for worship leadership at OMPC, and always does such a great job! Yesterday was a bit different from our norm at OMPC as we had the author of the BlueBook - Jim Branch with us for an "interview" of sorts from our Sr Pastor. We got to hear from him about his heart for writing the book and deepening his personal walk with Christ. We had a wonderful crisp fall day yesterday here in Alabama - high humidity and temps in the 80's. Nothing says fall like running in shorts and a t-shirt.
