Good morning interwebs.  We had the first Sunday of June yesterday.  June.  Say it with me.  June.  Can you believe it's June?  I should have left the Christmas lights on the bushes at my house...We opened yesterday with Awake My Soul.After our call to worship we sang Arise, O Worship the King, Break Through, and One Thing Remains.Our offering song was Give Me Faith from Elevation Worship.

If you're reading this... on monday.... why?Go outside.  Spend it the afternoon in a lawn chair, on this beautiful Alabama afternoon - before the humidity gets so bad, it becomes hard to breathe.  Or come to my house.  Seriously.  We're having a cookout this afternoon.  You're invited.  Bring your own meat.We opened yesterday with Arise and Sing which fits nicely into the intro and interlude for Journey's Faithfully.After our call to worship we sang Filled With Your Glory, The Same Love, Amazing Grace (Chains are Gone), and Everything.Our offering song was I Lift My Hands.

We had a great morning of worship with the choir leading - I love choir Sundays.  Choir takes a break now - and will resume for a couple weeks in June.We opened yesterday with God is Coming - a new(er) tune from Tim Hughes.  Love it.After our call to worship we sang Amazing God, Our God Saves, How Great Thou Art, and Revelation Song.Our offering song was Love is War - a great tune off of Hillsong United's latest album "Zion."We begin our summer schedule next week - with one worship service only at 10:45.  On Sunday, June 2, Sunday School resumes,…

I always love when the kids lead us in worship.  Most of these kids haven't known "church" without worship - and have been learning psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs since they were in preschool.We opened yesterday with Song of Love.After our call to worship, we sang Let the Praises Ring, Awesome is the Lord Most High, By Faith,  and Here I Am to Worship.Our offering song was a Mandy Sears original, written back in 2011 called One Mother's Prayer.Be sure and join us this Wednesday for choir.  We're preparing to lead in worship THIS Sunday - May 19th.

We had our "acoustic" set this past sunday - perc, acoustic, and piano... I always enjoy changing up the "typical" instrumentation every once in a while.We opened with Let Us Return - a tune I wrote a few years ago, based on Hosea.After our call to worship we sang Forever Reign, The Solid Rock, We Will Run, and Surrender.Our offering song was Give Me Faith.Come join us for choir this Wednesday, as we prepare to lead in worship on Sunday the 19th.

We had a choir Sunday yesterday - and even with two dozen ladies out for one reason or another, we had a great turnout.  It is, of course, never too late to get involved with choir.We opened yesterday with a song I wrote with Billy Ivey called I Will Sing, or My King, or something...After our call to worship we sang You Lifted Me Out, Come Ye Sinners, Rejoice the Lord is King, and 10,000 Reasons.Our offering song was a tune included in our 2013 Palm Sunday worship service (that wasn't on Palm Sunday this year because of Spring Break)…

It was good to be back home, and worshipping with Oak Mountain yesterday.  I certainly love our church, and miss it when I'm gone.We opened yesterday with Hillsong's Search My Heart.After our call to worship we sang Hosanna (Hillsong), How He Loves, I Stand Amazed, Grace Flows Down, and Before the Throne of God Above.Our offering song was Love is War from Hillsong's latest album "Zion."

I was out of town this past weekend, and the always excellent Patrick Bush filled in, with some of his youth worship team.They opened last weekend with a new *to oak mountain tune called Exalted One.After the call to worship they sang Your Name, Come Thou Fount, and One Thing Remains.The offering song was Your Great Name.Join us for choir tonight!  Rehearsal from 6-7 as we prepare to lead in worship on Sunday April 28th.

We had a packed two services yesterday for Easter Sunday.We opened with Joyful from Brenton Brown.After our call to worship we sang Let God Arise, Stronger, Christ the Lord is Risen Today, The Stand, and In Christ Alone.Our offering song was Christ is Risen from Matt Maher.Worship choir resumes in two weeks - Wednesday night April 17th.  Join us!
