Monday Morning Recap for Sunday – January 22, 2012

We kicked off our 2012 Global Missions Conference yesterday. Our conference this year is lasting a week as opposed to the normal 3 days.We opened yesterday with a new tune (to Oak Mountain) - Charlie Hall's Song of the Redeemed. I say it's new to Oak Mountain - but Patrick Bush has been using it for a couple years in the youth house. Speaking of the youth house - if you've got youth-aged kids and they're not plugged into the youth house - you're missing out. After our call to worship we sang You Lifted Me Out, All Hail the Power…

There's something really amazing about the one-service schedule, seeing the entire church gathered in one room. Worship Order for Bridget Beasley's Memorial

I've had tons of requests for the worship order that we did the other night. For those of you that aren't at Oak Mountain, we lost a dear, dear sister, friend, mom to a long bout with cancer. We then read together Question #1 in the Heidelberg Catechism (what is your only comfort in…

Monday Morning Recap for Sunday – June 5, 2011

There have been few times in the almost 8 years that I've been here where we've totally thrown out your typical "worship order" and opted for something completely out of the box - and yesterday was one of those times. We invited in Curt Cloninger to come and share with us his "God Views" show. Absolutely incredible. I've known Curt for almost 14 years now. We met while working at Perimeter Church in Atlanta. I've been trying to get him in here since we moved - and yesterday was the day. If you don't know Curt - check his stuff out…

Monday Morning Recap for Sunday – May 22, 2011

Patrick and the youth worship team did an excellent job leading for me last week as I was out of town. I so appreciate not only his heart for worship, but his heart for developing young musicians - not just into better musicians, but into better worshippers. If you go to Oak Mountain and you read this, and your child is youth-aged and not plugged into our youth ministry, I'm not quite sure why - but i'd strongly recommend getting your kids involved. They opened last week with The Highest and Greatest (Tim Hughes). After the call to worship they sang What…
