Two recaps today - one for our Christmas Eve service - and one for yesterday - Sunday the 26th.Our Christmas Eve service has developed into quite the tradition. This was my 8th Christmas at Oak Mountain, and I've tried to instill some sort of "traditional" songs for oak mountain, during Christmas Eve. Yesterday marked the 1st Sunday of Advent. In the liturgical calendar - it's the Prophet Candle - "the anticipation of christ." The songs was sang yesterday all pointed us to the expectation of Christ's coming/Christ's return. We opened with Let God Arise. After our call to worship we sang Hosanna, Your Grace is Enough, Our God Saves, Come Thou Long Expected Jesus, and Never Let Go. Our offering song was a killer tune called Light of the World.

We celebrated Christ the King Sunday yesterday - traditionally part of the liturgical calendar, and recognized as the Sunday prior to Advent starting. Generally a celebration of Christ's 2nd Advent - the waiting on Him to come again . . . We opened yesterday with a tune I wrote with Billy Ivey called I Will Sing.After our call to worship we sang Sing to the King, Not to Us, Center, Recoice the Lord is King, Before the Throne of God Above, and Agnus Dei. Choir led in worship last weekend. That wraps our final "regular" service led by the choir for the year.
