Our Global Missions Conference kicked off yesterday morning. We met last night as well - and will meet tonight and tomorrow at 6:15. We opened yesterday with a new song (to oak mountain) called Let Your Kingdom Come (by the fine folks over at Sovereign Grace). After our call to worship we sang Let God Arise. Sing to the King, The Solid Rock, and Revelation Song. Last night we opened with Hosanna, and continued with Our God Saves, Everlasting God, Immortal Invisible, and Center. Come join us tonight and tomorrow at 6:15 for worship and Dr. Elliot Greene.

Choir led in worship yesterday. I love choir Sundays - great opportunity to get as many people involved in leading worship as possible. if you haven't joined the choir - think about it. Had a great day of worship yesterday. Life Groups have started back, as well as kids choir and worship choir. If you're not plugged into a life group - do so. Two recaps today - one for our Christmas Eve service - and one for yesterday - Sunday the 26th.Our Christmas Eve service has developed into quite the tradition. This was my 8th Christmas at Oak Mountain, and I've tried to instill some sort of "traditional" songs for oak mountain, during Christmas Eve. Having said that, much of our programming is the same, with just a few variations. We have, since i've been here, had two services. Yesterday marked the 1st Sunday of Advent. In the liturgical calendar - it's the Prophet Candle - "the anticipation of christ." The songs was sang yesterday all pointed us to the expectation of Christ's coming/Christ's return. We opened with Let God Arise. After our call to worship we sang Hosanna, Your Grace is Enough, Our God Saves, Come Thou Long Expected Jesus, and Never Let Go. Our offering song was a killer tune called Light of the World.

We celebrated Christ the King Sunday yesterday - traditionally part of the liturgical calendar, and recognized as the Sunday prior to Advent starting. Generally a celebration of Christ's 2nd Advent - the waiting on Him to come again . . . Choir led in worship last weekend. That wraps our final "regular" service led by the choir for the year. The choir is continuing to prepare for "Rescue" - our Christmas worship service which will be Sunday December 12, 2010 at both services.We opened last week with All Who Are Thirsty.After our call to worship we sang Jesus Shall Reign, Awesome is the Lord Most High, God of This City, and When All is Said and Done.Our offering song was Do It Lord.
