Great time of worship yesterday for Easter Sunday. Been out of town recently, and it's always good to get back to my home church.We opened yesterday with What a Savior.After our call to worship we sang Let God Arise, Our God Saves, Christ the Lord is Risen Today, Mighty to Save, and Revelation Song.Our offering song was a tune by Matt Maher (Your grace is enough), called Christ is Risen. SUCH a great tune.

Monday Morning Recap for Sunday – April 17, 2011

Not your traditional Monday Morning recap - as yesterday was our Palm Sunday worship service. We opened with Viva la Vida. I'll post the video soon that explained why we opened with that song - and my take on the lyrics. We did new songs from Tim Hughes, HIllsong United, Tommy Walker, Andy Gullahorn, Bethany Dillon, Handel (yes really) and Jared Anderson, and a couple custom hymn arrangements that I've done. This is getting ridiculous. If I can't commit to a Monday morning... We opened on Sunday with a song I wrote called Awake My Soul. After our call to worship we sang Paul Baloche's Hosanna, Come Thou Fount, Here I am to Worship, and You Gave Your Life Away. Our offering song was Lift High - such a great tune. I was out this past Sunday.Mark Clement led for me - and Bob continued his Lenten sermon series. Yesterday was the 3rd Sunday of Lent. Bob came up with a great acrostic - LENT - Let Everyone Now Turn. Lent ends up being a sweet time in my life - of trying to strip away all that i get distracted with - and focus back on Christ, for my sufficiency, sustenance, identity... I was out of town on Sunday, and Oak Mountain had the privilege to be lead by Jenny Pruitt. She does a tremendous job - and it's great to have folks like her that so easily and flawlessly step into place.On Sunday, they opened with Beautiful One.After the call to worship they sang Sing to the King, Our God Saves, Before the Throne of God Above, and Hungry.The offering song was a new song from Jenny called Faithful and Amazing Love. Only had one service yesterday, and it was quite the service - probably one of the biggest technical failures we've ever had, and we're still unsure of what happened. Monday Morning Recap for Sunday – March 6, 2011

Not your typical recap for yesterday. We premiered a brand new children's musical called Please Come Home. Created and written by my wife, Mandy Sears, the musical explored both the prodigal son, and the older brother, and was an incredible reminder of God's pursuit of us. Most of the music was original compositions by Mandy, along with a tune each from One Republic, and FFH. Mandy also wrote all of the dialogue, stage direction, and choreography.
