This is getting ridiculous. If I can't commit to a Monday morning... We opened on Sunday with a song I wrote called Awake My Soul. After our call to worship we sang Paul Baloche's Hosanna, Come Thou Fount, Here I am to Worship, and You Gave Your Life Away. Our offering song was Lift High - such a great tune. For communion we sang Beautiful Things (by Gungor) and another tune I wrote called Endless Praise. Our Palm Sunday program is this Sunday - don't miss it. I was out this past Sunday.Mark Clement led for me - and Bob continued his Lenten sermon series. This week - PS 23.They opened with Famous One.After the call to worship they sang I Am Free, You Are My Strength, Jesus Paid it All, and How Great is Our God.We had the privilege of having some ladies from the Lovelady Center with us in worship. Yesterday was the 3rd Sunday of Lent. Bob came up with a great acrostic - LENT - Let Everyone Now Turn. Lent ends up being a sweet time in my life - of trying to strip away all that i get distracted with - and focus back on Christ, for my sufficiency, sustenance, identity... We opened yesterday with a tune I wrote called Let Us Return. Ironically enough - Bob was going to use the tune as an illustration (for aforementioned acrostic) and had no idea that we were going to sing it. I love it when the Holy Spirit…

I was out of town on Sunday, and Oak Mountain had the privilege to be lead by Jenny Pruitt. She does a tremendous job - and it's great to have folks like her that so easily and flawlessly step into place.On Sunday, they opened with Beautiful One.After the call to worship they sang Sing to the King, Our God Saves, Before the Throne of God Above, and Hungry.The offering song was a new song from Jenny called Faithful and Amazing Love. She'll have an opportunity to share it again soon at our first ever Artists Creating in Community sharing event.

Only had one service yesterday, and it was quite the service - probably one of the biggest technical failures we've ever had, and we're still unsure of what happened. The only PC that the worship ministry uses sits in the booth and runs songshowplus - but that may be changing soon. Anyway - it was a great morning, and there was great laughter; what a great church! Not your typical recap for yesterday. We premiered a brand new children's musical called Please Come Home. Created and written by my wife, Mandy Sears, the musical explored both the prodigal son, and the older brother, and was an incredible reminder of God's pursuit of us. Most of the music was original compositions by Mandy, along with a tune each from One Republic, and FFH. Mandy also wrote all of the dialogue, stage direction, and choreography. Bob preached yesterday on affirmation. Such a good sermon. We opened yesterday with a new (to oak mtn) tune from Hillsong called Forever Reign. What a great day yesterday. Bob finished his Gospel Pipeline series - next week he'll be preaching on the power of affirmation...We opened yesterday morning with I Will Sing.After our call to worship we sang Everlasting God - in the style of Anthony Evans, You Alone Can Rescue, Your Name, and Amazing Grace (Chains are Gone).Our offering song was passion's Awakening.We continue in choir with our preparation for Palm Sunday - April 17. Great sermon on Gospel Assertion - don't be a lopsided snowman... We opened yesterday with Let Your Kingdom Come - it's the 3rd week in a row that we've done that song. I supposed folks may be tired of it by now. After our call to worship we sang Awesome is the Lord Most High, Immortal Invisible, Great is Thy Faithfulness, and The Stand (Hillsong). Our offering song was Passion's version of Take My Life. During Communion, Jenny sang Make Something Beautiful. Choir sings next week. Never too late to join choir. Come give it a shot!
