Monday Morning Recap for Sunday – September 27 (on Tuesday)

Choir Sunday are my favorite Sundays. I love the energy of having so many voices . . . i love having SO many people getting to lead in worship at once. Great drummer! After our call to worship we sang Jesus Shall Reign, which is a traditional hymn that I set to a latin funk groove (if that's even possible). I really…

Monday Morning Recap for Sunday – September 20

The kids led in worship yesterday. I love having the kids - there's something genuine about their presence on the stage, leading, singing, dancing, jumping - or in the case of my 4 year old, sitting down and sulking. We asked him about it when we got home. His response: "I didn't sing praises to God this morning." Mandy: "Why not?" Drew: "I was upset that I only got to sing one song. I wanted to sing two songs to God."Hmm.Anyway - Some of the music was new yesterday. All of the arrangements were different. We opened with Standing on…

Monday Morning Recap for Sunday – September 6

Labor Day weekend. We still had church. We opened with You Are Good. I added the bridge part - which proclaims "you are good, all the time, all the time, you are good." I thought it was a little edgier than normal, but apparently Bob thought it wasn't that edgy - and exhorted us with something even edgier from the psalms . . . which was cool. After our call to worship we sang Because of Your Love (Baloche), Search Me (Ronnie Freeman), Your Name (Baloche), Before the Throne of God Above, and Agnus Dei. I said this as we…
