The kids led in worship yesterday. I love having the kids - there's something genuine about their presence on the stage, leading, singing, dancing, jumping - or in the case of my 4 year old, sitting down and sulking. We asked him about it when we got home. His response: "I didn't sing praises to God this morning." Mandy: "Why not?" Drew: "I was upset that I only got to sing one song. It's always nice to come back to the home church after being gone.Yesterday's worship service was the Oak Mountain unplugged version - except that everything was plugged in, including the piano. Labor Day weekend. We still had church. We opened with You Are Good. I added the bridge part - which proclaims "you are good, all the time, all the time, you are good." I thought it was a little edgier than normal, but apparently Bob thought it wasn't that edgy - and exhorted us with something even edgier from the psalms . . . which was cool. Yesterday was a full day at Oak Mountain. Bob's birthday, the launch of video announcements, and a guest artist.We opened worship with Awake My Soul - a tune I wrote a while ago set to some Isaac Watts words.After our call to worship, we sang Let God Arise (Tomlin), Our God Saves (Baloche), How Deep the Father's Love for Us, and Never Let Go (Redman)We then launched into our new video announcements.After baptisms, we had our time of offering, and were thrilled and honored to have Aaron Shust, Bethany Olds, and Shawn Lewis, all three out on tour with Glory…

Choir Sundays. I LOVE choir Sundays. This morning we opened with Tehillah (which means to sing a new song). After our call to worship, we sang Hosanna, Immortal Invisible, Come Thou Fount, Hear Us From Heaven, and Revelation Song. Our offering song was I Will Rise - a newer Tomlin tune, which was fun to arrange for choir. The next two weeks in choir we're going to be previewing our Christmas music, and preparing to lead in worship on September 27. Come join us. Bring a friend.
