Monday Morning Recap for Sunday – September 30, 2018

Yesterday was a quite the Sunday as we had our choir leading in worship, Don Sellers and South Park Baptist joining us for prayer and spontaneous song creation, and Greg Poole continuing our series in Acts.

If you’re thinking about joining choir – NOW is always a great time to get involved.  You can contact me in the worship office for more information.

We opened yesterday with Glorious Day

After the call to worship we sang Come Christians Join to Sing, Forever Reign, Jesus and Your Love Defends Me

Our offering song was Broken Vessels

Monday Morning Recap for Sunday September 23, 2018

Yesterday’s worship set was actually crafted from a part of the sermon text “But we believe that we will be saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus…”

We opened with May Jesus Christ Be Praised

After the call to worship we sang Hosanna (Hillsong), All Hail the Pow’r of Jesus Name, Lion and the Lamb and Your Grace Finds Me

Our offering song was Carlee Green’s rendition of You Say – the new tune out from Lauren Daigle.

Monday Morning Recap for Sunday – September 16, 2018

Hard to believe that we’re already halfway through September.  I’d say I can’t wait for it to get cold but as soon as it gets cold we all start saying we can’t wait for it to get hot.

In the meantime we’re already preparing for our 2018 Christmas Worship Service – you should come join us in choir on Wednesdays from 6-7

We opened yesterday with Heaven and Earth

After the call to worship we sang You Lifted Me Out, All Creatures of Our God and King, Lord I Need You and To Him.

Our offering song was Do It Again – a new tune we introduced last week from Elevation Worship.

Monday Morning Recap for Sunday – September 9, 2018

Great to be back with OMPC after spending a weekend away ministering.  We’ve also officially kicked off our Christmas rehearsal season as we’ve started preparing for our Christmas worship service on December 9th.  Come join us!

We opened yesterday with Your Love Awakens Me

After the call to worship we sang This is Amazing Grace, Great Are You Lord, Be Still My Soul and At the Cross

Our offering song was a brand new tune (for OMPC) called Do It Again by Elevation Worship.

I’ve gotten in trouble for changing words before to songs that we sing.  The critics have a valid point – the songwriters specifically wrote the lyrics, and in general I try to honor that.  I was specifically led yesterday (in real time) to change the final line of this new tune from “I never will forget…” to “Lord Help me not forget…”

An even casual reading of the old testament will show that God’s people did nothing BUT forget that His love never fails.  He has never failed.  He will never fail.  Even in the midst of my own life experience – seeing God never fail in the midst of my stupidity, Lord help me not forget, You’ve never failed me yet….

Monday Morning Recap for Sunday – September 2, 2018

I was out of town on Sunday and so Jeff Sauceda led for us – great guy, great voice, and a great friend!

They opened with Psalm 100

After the call to worship they sang Lion and the Lamb, Unstoppable God and Reckless Love

The worship set was abbreviated this past Sunday as we had Chad Walker’s ordination service as a part of our Sunday morning – which had some additional elements involved.

Join us in choir – Wednesday nights from 6-7 in the choir room!

Monday Morning Recap for Sunday – August 26, 2018

Yesterday was our inaugural choir Sun day for the 2018-2019 ministry year and we had a fantastic turnout!  Such a great group to work with.  If you’ve been thinking about joining us, now is a great time to get plugged in, as we’re already working on Christmas music – working toward our 2018 Christmas service – set for December 9th.

We opened yesterday with Even So Come

After the call to worship we sang Amazing God, Good Good Father, Praise to the Lord the Almighty and No Other Name (the Jason Sears tempo version that only takes 13 minutes instead of the Hillsong standard 23 minutes)

Our offering song was All the Poor and Powerless

Monday Morning Recap for Sunday – August 19, 2018

Yesterday concluded our Summer 2018 week of Prayer as Bob continued his series from 2 Peter.  We concluded our week of prayer with a 24-hour time of prayer and fasting, and a mini-concert of prayer style worship service.

We opened yesterday with Glorious Day

After the call to worship we sang Joyful, and entered into a time of adoration prayer.  We then sang O Come to the Altar and entered a time of confession.  How He Loves came next and preceded a time of thanksgiving and we concluded with Never Once leading into a time of supplication

Choir has started back!  Come join us Wednesday nights from 6-7 downstairs in the choir room.  Drinks, snacks and childcare are provided
