We wrapped up the Sabbatical preaching series yesterday - as Gordon Bals of Daymark Counseling finished a two-week run at Oak Mountain.We also had quite the crowd, as we welcome back our Sr Pastor - Bob Flayhart from his summer sabbatical.  He'll return to the pulpit next Sunday - August 26th.We opened yesterday with a song I wrote with Billy Ivey called I Will Sing.After our call to worship we sang Amazing God (Brenton Brown), Forever Reign (Hillsong United), Praise to the Lord the Almighty, 10,000 Reasons (Matt Redman), and Revelation Song.Our offering song was also a new tune (for oak mountain) called…

I absolutely love bullfrog choir Sunday.  Yesterday we had about 125 guys join us on stage and lead Oak Mountain in worship. I mentioned to the men yesterday - one of the biggest blessings from not leading for 6.5 months was the opportunity to sit and worship with my boys.  It's one of the biggest callings you have as a father - to model worship for your children.  Don't take it lightly.  For those that joined me on the stage yesterday - i was literally preaching to the choir, as those men were willing to get up and sing anyway -…

Yesterday's worship was particularly special to me.  I had changed out a few of the songs last minute before rehearsal on Wednesday.  To look around and see so many singing, so fervently… what a blessing to be at Oak Mountain.We opened yesterday with Brenton Brown's Joyful.After our call to worship we sang Because of Your Love, Come Ye Sinners, Grace that is Greater, 10,000 Reasons, and How He Loves.Our offering song was the newest Paul Baloche song called The Same Love.

Good morning interwebers.We opened yesterday with a tune I wrote with Billy Ivey called I Will Sing.After our call to worship we sang You Lifted Me Out, You Alone Can Rescue, Jesus Paid it All, and How Deep the Father's Love for Us.Our offering song was a new tune to Oak Mountain called 10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord) by Matt Redman.  Terrific tune.  Wouldn't be surprised if it showed up again this week.

So it's on Tuesday - it's a weird week this week, what with the holiday on a Wednesday…. How do you plan a trip around being off on a Wednesday?I was on a short vacation this past weekend - and so Patrick Bush filled in for me, and as always did an outstanding job.They opened last Sunday with Song of the Redeemed.After the call to worship they sang Awesome is the Lord Most High, No Not One, A Mighty Fortress, and Lead Me to the Cross.The offering song was Reign in Us.Communion coming up this Sunday.  Come ready to feast!

Choir sang again yesterday.  I love choir Sundays!  Choir now takes a break until August, when we'll resume rehearsals on Wednesday night, August 8th.We opened yesterday with one of my favorite Tommy Walker tunes - I Have a Hope.After our call to worship we sang Hosanna, Joyful, The Stand, God of This City, and Before the Throne of God Above.Our offering song was a new tune that I introduced during communion last week called Great I Am from New Life Worship.

Had a little "Oak Mountain Unplugged" yesterday.We opened with All Because of Jesus.After our call to worship we sang Your Grace is Enough, Stronger, The Solid Rock, and You Never Let Go.Our offering song was Lift High.For communion - i introduced a new song (to Oak Mountain) called Great I Am.  We also sang Streams of Living Water Flow, from Red Mountain Music.
