Great morning of worship last Sunday. I had some good time off the week before with the family, and it's always good coming and kicking off the advent season at Oak Mountain. My encouragement to the congregation was that as we worship though advent - we continue to sing praise songs, intermingled with carols. As we consider the 1st advent (Christ's birth), and the 2nd advent (Christ's return), my encouragement is that we embrace the texts of those praise songs in the context of an advent setting - singing words like "remember your people, remember your children, remember your promise,…

Yesterday was Christ the King Sunday. I wrote some about that last year.We opened up with Famous One.After our call to worship, we sang Arise, Open the Eyes of My Heart, Rejoice the Lord is King (set to Tiny Dancer), Your Name, and Agnus Dei.I had a conversation with someone once at another church that suggested that AG-nus, Dee-I, was a really good song.For our offering - Alicia sang When Love Takes You In (Chapman).We're out of the office this week. Sunday was awesome. Apart from the worship set, and the testimony from Pavel (Bob's friend from St Petersburg), we had a moment where all adopting, or adopted families came up on stage. There were 100's on stage at once. Awesome moment.
